Maintenance Guidelines
Congratulations on choosing PRO I TECT—your car's new best friend for lasting protection! Our advanced ceramic coatings make upkeep a breeze, but a few simple habits will keep everything performing at its best. Follow these easy tips for exteriors, interiors, rims, and windscreens. Remember, less is more—your car will stay cleaner longer naturally.
01
General Tips for All Areas
Wash Regularly but Gently: Rinse weekly with cool water to remove loose dirt. Use our PRO I TECT Ceramic Shampoo (pH-neutral) for a full clean—no harsh soaps or brushes needed.
Avoid Automatic Car Washes: They can be too abrasive; hand wash or touchless options are better to preserve the coating.
Dry Properly: Use a soft microfiber towel or let air dry—water spots wipe off easily thanks to the hydrophobic effect.
Top Up as Needed: For extra shine, apply our Ceramic Enhancer spray every few months to boost protection.
No Wax or Polish: Our coatings don't need them; they could interfere with the molecular bond.
Park Smart: Shade your car when possible to minimize UV exposure, and remove bird droppings or sap quickly with our Bird Dropping Remover.
02
Exterior Maintenance
Weekly Rinse: Hose off dirt—water beads and rolls away fast (just 2 seconds on treated surfaces!).
Full Wash: Every 2-4 weeks, use Ceramic Shampoo to lift grime without stripping
protection. For matt paint, switch to Matt Shampoo to keep the non-glossy look.
Tough Spots: Use Tar & Glue Remover for sticky residues—safe and quick.
Pro Tip: Your car resists pollution, acid rain, and animal deposits, so it looks cleaner longer with less effort.
03
Rim Maintenance
Rinse Often: Brake dust washes oƯ easily with water—do it weekly to prevent buildup.
Deep Clean: Use Alloy Wheel Cleaner for stubborn grime; it's acid-free and safe for coated rims.
Tyre Care: Apply Tyre Shine after cleaning for a water-repellent, non-sling finish that prevents cracking.
Pro Tip: Handles heat up to 400°C, so rims stay protected even on hot drives—less corrosion, more shine.
04
Windscreen Maintenance
Rainy Days: Enjoy the super-hydrophobic magic—rain beads up and flies off for clearer views.
Clean Gently: Use Glass Clean for smudges or bugs; it maintains the coating without streaks.
Wiper Check: Inspect blades monthly and replace if worn—our treatment makes them glide smoothly.
Frost/Ice: Wipes away easily; no de-icers needed.
Pro Tip: Lasts up to 2 years; keep it optimal with regular soft shampoo washes.
Showcasing Your Interior:
The PROTECT Maintenance Guide
A pristine interior is a critical part of the complete vehicle experience. Spills, dust, and daily wear can take their toll, but with a consistent routine, you can maintain that new car look and feel.
This guide provides the official PROTECT-approved methods for maintaining your vehicle's interior surfaces, especially those treated with our advanced protection products. The key is using the right product and the correct techniques.
Your Essential
Maintenance Toolkit
To properly care for your interior, we
recommend having a few key items on hand:
PROTECT Leather and Fabric Cleaner: This is the only officially recommended solution to clean and maintain your vehicle's upholstery without compromising its one-off protection.
Soft-Bristled Detailing Brush: Ideal for agitating dust from vents and crevices and for gently working cleaner into fabric.

High-Quality Microfiber Cloths: You will need several clean, dry cloths for dusting, cleaning, and blotting.
Vacuum Cleaner: A vacuum with soft brush and crevice attachments is essential for removing debris.
The 4-Step PROTECT Interior Routine
Follow this process regularly to keep your interior in exceptional condition.
1. Start with a Thorough Vacuum
Before you apply any cleaners, you must remove all loose dirt and debris.
-
Remove all floor mats from the vehicle.
-
Vacuum the carpets, mats, and all fabric surfaces. Use a crevice tool for seams and hard-to-reach areas.
-
Use a soft brush attachment to safely vacuum dust from leather surfaces, the dashboard, and the center console.
2. Clean Hard Surfaces (Plastics and Vinyl)
Hard surfaces like the dashboard, door panels, and center console act as dust magnets.
-
Use a dry microfiber cloth to wipe down all hard surfaces and remove surface dust.
-
For light fingerprints or grime, use a separate, lightly damp microfiber cloth.
-
Crucial: Do not spray household cleaners on these surfaces. Many all-purpose cleaners contain harsh chemicals that can strip the UV protection from your dashboard and plastics, leading to fading and cracking.
3. Deep Clean Upholstery with PROTECT
This is the most crucial step for long-term preservation. Always use the product formulated specifically for your surfaces.
For Fabric Seats & Carpets:
-
After vacuuming, spray light, even mist of PROTECT Leather and Fabric Cleaner onto the area.
-
If necessary, gently agitate the surface with a soft-bristled interior brush to lift the dirt.
-
Using a clean, dry microfiber cloth, blot the area to absorb the moisture and lift dirt.
-
Avoid oversaturating the fabric, which can lead to moisture wicking into the cushion below.
For Leather Surfaces:
-
Ensure the surface is free of dust and grit (see Step 1).
-
Apply a small amount of PROTECT Leather and Fabric Cleaner directly onto a clean microfiber cloth (not onto the leather itself).
-
Gently wipe the leather in small, manageable sections.
-
Use a second, clean, dry microfiber cloth to wipe away any excess residue. This product is designed to clean without drying out the leather.
4. Handle Spills Immediately
Accidents happen, but your reaction time is critical.
-
Act Fast: Treat liquid spills immediately.
-
Blot, Don't Rub: Soak up the spillage by dabbing gently with a clean, dry, and absorbent cloth.
-
DO NOT RUB! Rubbing enlarges the soiled area and forces the stain deeper into the fabric fibers.
-
Once the excess is blotted, apply PROTECT Leather and Fabric Cleaner and repeat the blotting process.
Please Note: While PROTECT products are effective against common spills like coffee, tea, and soft drinks, stains from oil-based substances or strong dyes (like from new jeans) are not covered by the guarantee and may require professional treatment.
🛑 What You Must AVOID
Using the wrong products can permanently damage your vehicle's interior.

DO NOT apply any other 'protection' or 'top-up' products to your treated surfaces. Your PROTECT application is a one-off, durable coating. Our Leather and Fabric Cleaner is a maintenance cleaner, not a re-application of the protection itself.
NEVER use household detergents, dish soap, or all-purpose cleaners on your car's interior. They are too harsh, can strip protective coatings, and dry out leather.
NEVER use abrasive sponges or scouring pads, as they will scratch plastics and leather.
NEVER use ammonia-based glass cleaners on the inside of your windows. The ammonia can damage window tint and fog plastic surfaces.
NEVER rub a spill, especially on fabric. Always blot.
